WHAT I'M TRACKING: A weak disturbance tracking southeast across the region will continue to cause periodic light snow showers tonight. The light snow will then taper to flurries Thursday morning.
HOW MUCH SNOW: Not much snow will fall tonight, perhaps around an inch or less in most areas. However, with temps dropping into the 10s and 20s, watch for slick spots on the roads tonight and also for the Thursday morning commute.
PLANNING YOUR NEXT 24HOURS:Â Periods of light snow showers tonight, tapering to flurries Thursday morning. Lows tonight will range from the 10s (west) to the low-mid 20s. Mostly to partly cloudy Thursday, with colder highs in the 20s for most, but some teens possible west. In fact, temps won't rebound much from Thursday morning lows.
ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW: A clipper system will then bring another round of light snow late Thursday night into Friday, especially during the morning hours of Friday. Snow accumulations around an inch will be possible and the Friday morning commute will likely see impacts. Also, rather breezy Friday and this could add to the travel impacts.
LOOKING AHEAD: Mainly cloudy Saturday with a chance of light snow as a disturbance passes by to the south. Snow chances will be greatest in southern portions of our viewing area. Dry Sunday with mostly cloudy skies.
The main story starting this weekend will be much colder temperatures. Highs will be in the teens Saturday, then around 10F on Sunday. Overnight lows will drop below zero, especially Sunday night.
It's going to stay cold next week, with highs only in the single digits to near 10F and overnight lows in the -0s. Traditional colder spots may even dip into the -10s on some nights. As of now, next week looks mostly dry... but there could be some low-end chances for light snow showers or flurries around Tuesday or Wednesday.
Be careful on the roads tonight and have a good night! -Meteorologist Bill Graul

Bill has been a member of the First Warn Meteorologists at News 8 since March of 1998 when he first started as the weekend meteorologist. He woke up “dark and early” to give us our daily weather forecast on News 8 This Morning and News 8 At Noon since June of 1999. More than 10 of those years were with co-anchor Jennifer Livingston. Believe it or not, they still like each other… at least most of the time. Bill jokes the best thing about getting up at 2:30 in the morning was there’s no traffic for the morning commute.
Bill grew up in Denver, Colorado. He has a degree in Meteorology/Climatology/Physical Geography from the University of Colorado. He also has a second degree in Technical Journalism/TV Broadcasting from Colorado State University.
Favorite band? My favorite band is U2. I saw U2 a couple years ago in Milwaukee and more recently in Chicago. They were two of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. I also like The Dave Matthews Band, The Samples and Big Head Todd and the Monsters.
Favorite movie? Believe it or not it’s not Twister. My favorite movies (in order of release date) are: Weird Science, The Fugitive, The Bourne Ultimatum and The Hangover.
If you could interview one person, living or deceased, who would it be? Would Mother Nature count for this? I’d sure like to sit down and talk with her each year to see what she has planned for the region. This would make it so much easier for me to forecast our weather.
Favorite way to spend a day off? Taking naps, golf, traveling and just spending time with my wife and kids.
What sports team are you a big fan of? I was born in Denver and lived there for over 25 years. So… of course I am a huge fan of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and my alma mater Colorado Buffaloes.
Favorite food? My favorite food is any Mexican food, any breakfast food, filet mignon and seafood (especially lobster, crab legs and scallops).
