Water main break creates issues on La Crosse’s southside
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A water main break is creating extra work for city of La Crosse workers.
Freeze thaw cycles helped create the break in the water main at the intersection of 23rd and Denton Streets on La Crosse’s southside.
The utility manager for the city says as the water expands and refreezes, it causes these types of breaks.
The cycles can also create pot holes on roads.
The city keeps crews on-call to respond as needed.
