Voting Rights Rally in La Crosse to raise awareness on gerrymandering, voter suppression

Hosted by La Crosse Democratic Party

A rally raising awareness about partisan gerrymandering is coming to La Crosse.

The Voting Rights Rally, hosted by the La Crosse Democratic Party, will focus on gerrymandering and voter suppression. Local, state, and federal legislators will give short speeches and answer questions during the event, along with some of the democratic candidates for Wisconsin Governor.

One of La Crosse’s former mayors held a press conference Tuesday, saying it is important to bring voters together to talk about issues with their representatives.

“It’s an opportunity for the people in the La Crosse area, the greater La Crosse area, to come down here, to meet these folks, talk to them one-on-one, and hopefully get engaged in the process,” said Former Mayor of La Crosse John Medinger.

The Voting Rights Rally is coming to La Crosse’s Cameron Park this Saturday.

Legislators and gubernatorial candidates will be available to answer questions following the rally.
