Volunteers make the La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner come together

800 volunteers work to put on dinner

Nearly e00 volunteers are gearing up for the 33rd annual La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Everyone is invited to sit at the dinner table and enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal at the La Crosse Center.

Thursday, volunteers are working hard to get everything setup. On Wednesday, volunteers focused on setting up arts and crafts, dinner tables and preparing food.

But Thursday will be all about the food.

“Our turkey is equivalent to about 1,200 turkeys, we serve over 800 pounds of potatoes 800 pounds probably somewhere around 80 to 100 gallons of gravy,” Ruth McQuiston-Keil, the chair of the event said.

Doors open at the La Crosse center and 10 a.m. Thurs.
Food will be served from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
