Viterbo Women’s Soccer hopes 2020 is the year they win the conference tournament

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)–No one wants to be a runner up especially two times in a row, and Viterbo Women’s Soccer wants this year to be the year they take home conference gold.

Which makes them grateful that they get a chance play in the conference title this year, amidst the pandemic.

The V-Hawks are coming off a 9-4-2 schedule last year, and are returning most of their starters.

A young team across the board every player who scored a goal last season, with one exception is returning this year.

So how are they going to focus in on winning the conference in the middle of a pandemic? The players say it starts with having practices that help them focus but also to enjoy the opportunity.

“Classes are going to make things crazy online, and being at home but I think coming here every single day really helps reset us and will keep us focused for Georgia,” said Senior Alexis Reesman.

“I’m always trying to hype people up, bring the energy because if practice isn’t fun no one wants to be there you know what I mean? You have to bring fun to this field fun off the field and I think we just have great team chemistry so I think I play a big role in that,” added Sophomore Emma Webber.

They start the season in Dubuque taking on Clarke University September 6th.
