Viterbo fends off Valley City State

A turnover in the final seconds helped Viterbo women’s basketball come away with a 74-70 home win over Valley City State Friday night.

With Viterbo up 72-70 inside the final minute, VCSU found a lane into the paint, but the player tried to spin around Allie Wojtysiak and fell over, losing control of the ball. Wojtysiak picked up the ball and was fouled, and she would go 2-for-2 from the free throw line.

Wojtysiak finished with a team-high 10 points. No other V-Hawk scored double figures, though several scored nine points.

VCSU shot 57 percent but the V-Hawks forced them to commit 19 turnovers, which the V-Hawks converted into 24 points.
