Virtual walk to honor perinatal death
Nationwide, bereaved parents light candles at 7 PM on October 15th as another way to honor the children who have died
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – A virtual walk was held today to remember the unfortunate deaths of infants.
A Walk to Remember is an annual event hosted by Gundersen Health Systems and Resolve through Sharing, that honors babies who have died and to raise public awareness about perinatal loss.
Perinatal death occurs in an infant in the weeks before and just after birth.
They can also include miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, stillbirths, and newborn deaths.
October was designated as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in 1988.
