‘Virtual Ground Blessing’ celebrates new home being built by Habitat for Humanity, local organizations
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A La Crosse family’s dream of owning a home is coming true.
Libby Olson and her two sons currently live in a small two-bedroom apartment in a neighborhood she doesn’t feel safe raising a family in.
Which is why Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area, Thrivent, and local faith organizations are working together to build her a new home.
But before setting the foundation they held a virtual groundbreaking and blessing on the property.
Leaders from multiple faith organizations said prayers and for the Olson family and their future home.
Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director Kahya Fox also introduced the family during the livestreamed event.
Fox says to build each home over 175 people put in 2,500 volunteer hours!
Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area has been building and rehabbing homes in the Coulee Region since 1992.
