Virtual campaign underway for Great Rivers United Way

Money raised will support organizations throughout La Crosse area

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Great Rivers United Way is starting a virtual fundraiser to help meet community needs.

The new effort is a shift from the Reponse Phase effort that has been underway since March.

Now the Recovery Phase is closer to a more traditional effort from the organization.

Teams will have a friendly virtual competition to raise money for area kids, housing and health concerns in our area.

52 programs and 26 agencies get help from Great Rivers United Way.

While this year is different in many ways, the need for help is still here.

“We see a lot of our community members are impacted by COVID-19. So we’re here to ask you for your support, now more than ever. We need the community to step up,” said Great Rivers United Way Resource Development Director Katie Sparks.

Anyone interested in becoming an ambassador can sign up on the Great Rivers United Way’s website.

That is also where community members can made donations.
