Viroqua aircraft group to offer youths free chance to fly like an eagle after annual breakfast
Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast July 10 will feature breakfast in morning, flights in afternoon
VIROQUA, Wis. (WKBT) — Viroqua Chapter 1439 of the Experimental Aircraft Association not only will serve up a hearty breakfast to people of all ages on July 10 but also will take up children for Free Young Eagle plane rides.
The EAA chapter will host its annual Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon July 10 at the Viroqua Municipal Airport at 1320 Ellis West Road. On the menu will be pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee and milk at a cost of $9, although patrons 12 and younger will get to eat for $5.
The event also will feature displays of airplanes, remote-control aircraft, a medical helicopter, antique cars, an ambulance, firetruck and police car, as well as airplane rides by the Red Baron Flyers.
Participants can test their Tom Cruise/Maverick chops flying a jet in a simulator.
The Free Young Eagle airplane rides will be offered free to 8- to 17-year-olds in the afternoon. More information about the rides is available on the group’s website. Some flights also will be available to adults, at a cost.
