Very Warm & Humid Again Today
Isolated T-Showers Possible Friday
Thursday’s Forecast High: 92F / Tonight’s Low: 69F…
Wednesday was another warm and humid day with highs in the 80s to around 90F. A few spots saw isolated showers and t-storms, including a brief shower at the La Crosse airport that only dropped .02″ of rain.
Very warm and humid conditions will continue today with highs likely ranging from the mid 80s to low 90s. Heat indices could rise into the mid 90s during peak heating of the afternoon and early evening hours. I think most if not all areas will stay dry today, with isolated t-showers along weak boundaries over far northern/northeastern Wisconsin… and also well to our south over portions of Iowa & Illinois.
Mild and muggy tonight with just a few clouds. Lows will be in the upper 60s, but low 60s north and east. With light winds, some patchy valley fog cannot be ruled out late tonight into early Friday morning.
The heat and humidity remain in place Friday with highs back in the upper 80s to low 90s. A weak boundary will shift south across the area and could spark isolated showers and t-storms, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours.
Looking Ahead… Isolated showers and t-storms possible for the 4th of July, but many areas will likely stay dry. Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s. A disturbance approaches from the west on Sunday and will increase the chance for scattered showers and t-storms a bit. Highs Sunday will likely be in the mid-upper 80s.
The very warm and humid conditions will persist next week with highs mainly in the upper 80s to around 90F. Expect at least slight chances for showers and t-storms Monday through Wednesday, then just isolated t-showers on Thursday. Don’t go cancelling those outdoor plans though, as there will be plenty of dry time each day as well.
It looks like the very warm and humid conditions will persist through at least Sunday, July 12th… then there are some hints at slightly cooler and less conditions moving in starting Monday, July 13th. That’s way out there though, so stay tuned for updates.
Stay cool and have a great Thursday! -Bill Graul
