Very Cold Today, Snow For Friday & Saturday
Thursday’s High: 11°F, Tonight’s Low: 0°
Clouds have moved out, and high pressure is in control today. This means lots of sunshine, but COLD sunshine. Lows this morning are in the single digits below zero, with wind chills ranging from the teens to 20s below zero. Highs this afternoon will be near 11°F.
Partly cloudy skies tonight, and cold again. Lows will be in the single digits on either side of zero.
It will be a cold start to Friday, but temperatures will warm into the mid 20s ahead of our next snow maker. Expect increasing clouds tomorrow, then snow moving in from the southwest after 3pm. The snow will then become widespread during the evening and nighttime hours and last into Saturday. The News 8 Now Viewing Area is under a WINTER STORM WATCH during this time period, and Friday and Saturday are both ALERT DAYS. The forecast models are in pretty good agreement on storm totals being in the 3″-6″ range, but we could see a few isolated higher amounts. On top of the snow, winds will increase Friday night and Saturday with gusts up to 35 mph possible. Make sure to download the First Alert Weather app to stay in the know!
Skies will clear out Saturday night and Sunday. Sunshine will return for the second half of the weekend, but temperatures will be cold. Highs on Sunday will only top out in the single digits to low teens.
Sunshine and highs in the teens will continue through Tuesday.
Temperatures will gradually warm back into the 30s by the end of next week. Our next chance of precipitation won’t be until Friday.
