VARC opens new location in Sparta

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) — VARC Inc., a nonprofit providing services to people of all abilities, opened a new location Wednesday in the former Carlisle building in Sparta.

The new space at 402 Black River St. S. supports expansion of VARC’s subcontract assembly and packaging services for private sector businesses which simultaneously provides vocational and recreation services for adults with disabilities.

“We are pleased to share this growth opportunity with Sparta and surrounding communities,” said Liz Filter, President and CEO of VARC, Inc.

Filter said they were fortunate to work with Reliable Building Investments Entities, which offered VARC space in the central Sparta building.

“We look forward to continuing to build relationships in and around Sparta while providing employment opportunities for the community as well as employment training services for adults with disabilities,” she said.

VARC offers services five full days per week, and also provides transportation throughout Monroe County, so that individuals may participate with a customized schedule. It will offer an array of services, including community-based employment and day programming for adults with disabilities in this new location.
