La Crosse Non-profit organization donates hundreds of N95 masks to local health systems

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – VARC, Inc. has donated hundreds of critical supplies to health care organizations in several communities throughout Wisconsin this week.

N95 masks, which support health care workers in delivering safe and effective care to patients experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, are in dire need at this time.

Upon learning of the shortage, VARC stepped in to help.  Says Elizabeth Filter, VARC’s President & CEO, “We had a supply of N95 masks on hand, and when our purchasing and inventory employees brought that to my attention, it was clear that we could be of assistance to our communities, so we acted.” Filter, along with other staff, personally delivered supplies throughout this week to medical centers including Gundersen and Mayo Health Systems in La Crosse. Additionally, Vernon Memorial in Viroqua, Mile Bluff in Mauston, Reedsburg Medical Center, and Richland Medical Center received masks.
