V.P. Pence campaigns for Gov. Walker in Eau Claire
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Vice President was in Eau Claire Wednesday evening, showing his support for Governor Scott Walker’s reelection campaign.
V.P. Mike Pence campaigned across the state with Walker and U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir. During his speech, Pence highlighted Walker’s record since becoming governor.
“Over the past 8 years, Scott Walker’s taken on the public unions, he’s balanced your state budget, and he’s cut taxes for working families and businesses in the state of Wisconsin by 8-billion dollars, even while he made record investments in K-12 education,” said Pence.
In response to the Vice President’s visit, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin in a statement raised the concerns of Wisconsinites living with pre-existing conditions, saying in part, “Walker, Vukmir, and Pence have worked for years to undermine access to affordable health care, and all three support the lawsuit that would eliminate protections for the 2-point-4 million Wisconsinites with a pre-existing condition.”
