UW-La Crosse students call for climate justice

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A group of students took to the UW-La Crosse campus on Monday to bring awareness to climate change.

Citizen Action of Wisconsin joined up with UWL student activists to rally at the clock tower.

For students like Abby Siakpere, being out in the community is just the beginning of creating change.

“The first step to anything is just bringing awareness,” says Siakpere. “I don’t think the general public is aware of how dire the situation is.”

These students are calling on UWL to hire a Sustainability Coordinator to create a climate action plan for the university.
