UW-La Crosse hosts 20th annual La Crosse County law enforcement memorial
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – In honor of National Police Week, UW-La Crosse helped keep a twenty-year tradition going. The university hosted the annual La Crosse County law enforcement memorial ceremony.
Police and first responders from all over the county were there to honor those who’ve paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. La Crosse County Sheriff Jeff Wolf said it’s good to take time together to remember the fallen.
“We try to keep others safe. We work hard on our training and protecting each other, to do our duties, but it does touch home with everybody in law enforcement when somebody does lose their life,” Wolf said.
The county’s held services like this one every year for roughly 20 years. This is the first time UWL has hosted the event.
