UW Extension supervision change could mean benefits to La Crosse County
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A change within the UW Extension office could mean a better partnership with La Crosse County.
As a part of the UW System moving 2-year campuses into the jurisdiction of nearby 4-year universities, the UW Extension will now also be under the direct supervision of UW Madison’s chancellor. Previously, the Extension offices and all 2-year campuses were managed by a single chancellor.
La Crosse County’s Administrator says there will be benefits to working more closely with the System’s flagship campus.
“They’ll have additional resources through UW-Madison they’ll be able to access, whether they have an interest in the most cutting-edge research or expanding their publication abilities or research abilities,” said La Crosse County Administrator Steve O’Malley.
La Crosse County has 4 UW Extension educators covering Agriculture, 4H, Community Resource Development and Human Resources.
