UPDATE: West Salem police chief defers comment on death investigation
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) – As the investigation of a woman’s death Friday in West Salem continues, Police Chief Jeremy Randall said Tuesday that he is not able to discuss details.
West Salem officers responded at about 7 p.m. Friday to a call to a residence on Jennifer Lane, where they found a woman who was dead, according to earlier reports.
The public was not in danger at any time, Randall said Tuesday in a news release, which did not reveal a cause of death.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice State Crime Laboratory and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted in the initial investigation, the release said. An autopsy was performed in Rochester, Minn.
“If anything further develops from this investigation, another press release will be issued to inform the public of the findings,” the chief said.
