UPDATE: Packers linebacker charged with disorderly conduct
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers linebacker Erik Walden has been charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct-domestic abuse following a fight with his girlfriend.
Attorney Steve Richards entered a not guilty plea on Walden’s behalf in Brown County Circuit Court Wednesday.
Walden spent the Thanksgiving weekend in jail after his girlfriend was treated for injuries at a hospital. He was released the following Monday on $1,000 bond. Brown County District Attorney John Zakowski said Walden’s girlfriend told police they were arguing and that he pushed her, but she later changed her story to say she hit him first.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Walden’s situation is “under review” by the team and the NFL. Walden played in last Sunday’s game against the Giants in New York.
Walden is due back in court Dec. 27.
