UPDATE: La Crosse firefighters rescue one from burning home
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Firefighters helped rescue a person from a house fire in La Crosse.
The La Crosse Fire Department responded to the home at 917 East Ave. South around 8:37 p.m. Monday.
Fire Chief Ken Gilliam says crews were on scene within minutes of the call.
Firefighters rescued one person from a rear bedroom window of the home. They prevented another person from trying to go back into the home. Neither of the people in the house nor any of the firefighters was injured.
Chief Gilliam says the fire started on the front porch of the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
