LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – The rotary’s more than one million bulbs light the night sky, but for many families, this time of year can still be dark.

Two local leaders held a Unity Walk through the Rotary Lights.

The walk included a non-perishable food drive to benefit local families in need.

The goal of the walk is to collect donations for people in the community while also bringing people from different walks of life together.

“At the end of the day, I want them to look at people like myself and Chauncy, and everybody who’s out here to support this effort, and know we are one people. One love. One La Crosse,” said Jonathan Maye-Cates

There are already plans to hold the event again next year.
