UFAH announces its 2019 campaign

An area arts and humanities fundraiser kicks off

The United Fund for the Arts and Humanities (UFAH) announced its 2019 campaign on Monday, May 6.

UFAH is an umbrella fundraising organization whose funding sustains eleven community arts and humanities organizations.

Groups receiving funding from UFAH include: Coulee Chordsmen, Great River Festival of Arts, La Crosse BoyChoir, La Crosse Chamber Chorale, La Crosse Community Theatre, La Crosse County Historical Society, La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, La Crosse Area Youth Symphony Orchestras, La Crosse Girlchoir, Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center and the Pump House Regional Arts Center.

From large organizations to small ones, UFAH campaign leaders say they are essential to keeping the arts strong in our community.

UFAH Co-Chair, Pat Heim says “When you look at smaller groups, they don’t charge a lot of money for the tickets. It might cover the rental of the place their having a recital at, it may cover some minimal costs for a director, who’s a volunteer but is getting some small compensation. So it really is vital to have this additional money.”

UFAH’s goal this year is to raise $125,000.
