U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin optimistic about future under President Biden’s administration

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) attended President Biden’s inauguration Wednesday.

Baldwin said she was moved by Biden’s inaugural speech and his promise to reunite the country.

She’s looking forward to being part of that effort.

“That was certainly the central message of his inaugural statement – that we’re in this together,” Baldwin said. “We don’t have to think alike, we don’t have to agree on everything, but we have to work together to form a more perfect union.”

With three new Democratic senators sworn in Wednesday as well, Baldwin said now that they are the majority party it’s time to get things done.

“I know that I’ll be working with my colleagues to make sure we’re putting the most important issues up for debate, and ultimately passing laws and programs to help relieve the struggles we all face.”

Like Biden, her top priority right now is passing a new COVID-19 package.
