Two La Crosse Police Officers Round Up Cows Off of County Highway B

This was not your average police chase!

Police officers have to be ready for anything, it’s just the nature of the job.

But Monday afternoon, two of La Crosse’s Neighborhood Resource Officers got stuck trying to round up 19 wayward cows off of County Highway B.

The cows had wandered away from their farm and were now spending the day near the state bike trail by Walsh Golf Course.

Officer Dan Ulrich’s quick thinking to grab a pin off of one the the greens came in handy, “”I grew up on a farm and I know when you’re short on manpower and you need longer arms to steer cattle back, something with a flag on it will get them turned around.”

Officers Tyler Pond and Dan Ulrich had their hands full since all of the cows resisted being taken into custody, but eventually the farmer did show up to take his cows back home.
