Shots fired in Town of Buffalo lead to two arrests
TOWN OF BUFFALO, Wis. (WKBT) – Two were arrested in connection with a shooting outside a Town of Buffalo Tavern Friday morning.
According to a press release from the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department, Artanya Engel, 21, and Shakuur Kroll, 26, both of Black River Falls, were involved in a verbal altercation outside a tavern with three other individuals. Kroll, according to the release, pulled out a handgun and fired two shots, one in the direction of the three men involved in the altercation. Neither shot hit anyone.
Kroll fled initially, then returned to collect evidence that would link him to the shooting, law enforcement said. Kroll fled east on State Trunk Highway 34/54.
Kroll and Engel were later detained by units from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office on STH 34/54 near Klein Lane in Trempealeau County. Both are being held in Buffalo County Jail on charges of operating a firearm under the influence and first degree recklessly endangering safety.
