‘Two-a-days’: The 2015 Tomah Timberwolves
Season Opener: Aug. 21 at Mauston
TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) — After missing the playoffs for a second straight season, Tomah head coach Brad Plueger made a change.
“We have been very, if you want to say, soft,” said Plueger. “I think as coaches it is part our fault.
Added to the coaching staff was Matt Weber, a member of the WIAC All-Time Football Team and a national champion offensive lineman from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After joining the staff, Weber made changes of his own.
First, the Timberwolves offense will rely on a veteran offensive line that returns all five starters from last season.
Weber also brings a new team motto: ‘Pound the Rock’. The motto, which now can be found on just about every piece of equipment worn by Tomah players, represents putting forth maximum effort and determination at all times.
“It was not to run the football,” said Plueger. “It was to have a great attitude every day, and to give a better effort. And that is what I think you are seeing out of our kids.”
The Timberwolves open the season on the road Aug. 21 against Mauston.
