‘Two-a-days’: The 2015 Aquinas Blugolds
Season Opener: Aug. 22 vs. Prairie du Chien (UW-La Crosse)
The Blugolds do not expect to emulate the success of baseball’s spring state run, but an improved offense under new coordinator Steve Kramer is where expectations start this fall.
Kramer joins Aquinas after spending time as the head coach at both La Crescent and Seneca. His new-look offense is based on an up-tempo speed and style, something Blugolds fans should welcome after only scoring at least 14 points only one time last season.
“The winning attitude is bring brought over from the guys at state track and state baseball,” said quarterback Tyler Young. “That is just going to help our football program in general in terms of just being competitive. I think if we can put up some points this year a lot is going to change.”
What is coming back? Thirteen starters including senior defensive end Alex Schulte (All-Conference Honorable Mention).
“Our seniors have been great,” said third-year coach Thomas Lee. “Our seniors have took on the leadership role, and they may not have had a lot of success in terms of wins and losses, but they have been doing things the right way.”
Aquinas opens the season Aug. 22 against Prairie du Chien at UW-La Crosse.
