Trempealeau County teen found dead with overturned ATV
Ayrton 'AJ' Platt and ATV found in a creek near residence
TREMPEALEAU COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — A 14-year-old reported missing was found dead in a Trempealeau County creek with his overturned ATV on Thursday morning.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office and the Whitehall Fire Department coordinated a search for Ayrton “AJ” Platt. He had not returned home after leaving his grandparents’ house to ride an ATV in Whitehall around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call at about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday that Platt had not returned home.
Rescue crews found Platt with his overturned ATV in a creek near the residence at about 8:50 a.m. Thursday. The Trempealeau County coroner pronounced Platt dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin State Patrol, the Independence Fire Department and the Arcadia Fire Department also assisted in the search.
