Transportation task force meets in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin’s transportation needs are being discussed at a meeting today in La Crosse.
The Transportation Stakeholder Task Force is made up of Wisconsin government and business staff … as well as organizations from around the state.
Task Force members were given information on the current budget, opportunities and challenges impacting transit and local programs.
While today was the second and final meeting for the task force ahead of this year’s budget … the relationship with the Department of Transportation will continue.
“In the future, we probably will be working with this group to help us on longer term goals, but for right now, these two meetings is when we’re gathering the input for this budget,” said Craig Thompson, Wisconsin Department of Transportation Secretary.
The meeting also covered the highway program and funding alternatives.
