Train enthusiasts gather to trade, sell and buy memorabilia
Proceeds went to The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Museum near Copeland Park
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A fundraiser to help keep a local train installation open to everyone drew train enthusiasts from around the area to La Crosse Saturday.
The 25th annual Great Tri-State Rail Sale had train buffs buying, trading and selling their memorabilia. Vendors from 4 states offered about 280 tables worth of merchandise to visitors.
Goods offered at the sale ranged from model and toy trains, to books, magazines, and photographs.
“The feedback’s overwhelmingly positive. People are impressed by the size of it, the volume of merchandise that’s available, it’s a real extravaganza and a bargain hunter’s paradise,” said the 4000 Foundation President Mark Hamre.
All proceeds from the event are used to maintain and restore The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Museum near Copeland Park.
