Toys for Tots preps for upcoming holiday season

LA CROSSE (WKBT) – The La Crosse area is getting a headstart on embracing the season of giving with an annual tradition.

The La Crosse Jaycees are now dropping off donation barrels across the area for the annual Toys For Tots.

This effort supplies toys each year to around 1,200 kids in La Crosse County and La Crescent.

They’re asking the community for gently used toys to help spread holiday cheer to families in need.

“Anything you feel you can give us we would accept gladly,” said Lyndsey Langer, Community Vice President. “But we really need athletic balls, arts and crafts stuff always goes really fast, Legos, Barbies. Those [are kind of] the hot ticket items normally.”

Over 100 barrels are located throughout La Crosse, including one right at News 8.

Family registration starts on Tuesday and families can sign up on the Toys for Tots website.
