Toyota of La Crosse donates bicycles to homeless La Crosse veterans
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A local business is doing its part by helping the La Crosse homeless population.
Toyota of La Crosse gave 4 bikes to community members who lack access to transportation. The bikes were used for the company’s “Borrow and Bike” program which offered free bike use during vehicle repair appointments.
4 veterans in La Crosse’s Collaborative to End Homelessness program will benefit from the donations.
“It’s important they have some sort of transportation, either to get to a job, get to the supportive services they need, to get to shopping. All that kind of good stuff so bikes are always welcome as a donation for our group,” said La Crosse Collaborative to End Homelessness Project Manager Julie McDermid
The veterans also received new bike locks to protect their new wheels.
