Town of Campbell’s Santa run returns for 16th year
TOWN OF CAMPBELL, Wis. (WKBT) – It isn’t Christmas just yet, but Santa made an appearance on French Island with the Campbell Fire Department. The department is escorting Santa around and making stops at most of the public parks on French Island.
Santa brought a bag of goodies along with important fire safety information for the boys and girls who stopped by to see him. Leaders say they want kids to have a special Christmas especially this year. They wanted to do everything they can to make it happen.
“They can’t come up and sit on this lap this year, but we do have a cardboard cut out that the kids can take a picture next to which is life-size. And Santa will still be able to talk to them using social distancing,” said Public Education Coordinator, Jeff Nylander.
The Campbell Fire Department’s Santa Run has been going on for 16 years. Event organizers say they hope to continue the tradition for a long time.
