Tons of potatoes donated to Hunger Task Force
Onalaska realtors gave 4,000 pounds of Wisconsin Russet potatoes
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — The Hunger Task Force was celebrating a huge donation on Monday.
Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Lovejoy Realty Agents donated 4,000 pounds of Wisconsin Russet potatoes. The two tons of potatoes were loaded up and delivered to the task force Monday morning.
The real estate agents from the Onalaska office decided to forego their Christmas party and instead put their effort into giving back to those in need.
“It was an idea that was brought to us last week by one of our agents that he had an opportunity to procure some potatoes and it kind of grew from there. The agents all took the idea up and decided you know what let’s see if we can make an impact for the community this year during the holidays,” said Michael Pietrek, of BHHS Lovejoy Realty.
Monday night the hunger task force is being recognized for their partnership with the La Crosse School district. The task force helps fill the shelves of school district food pantries with donations and fresh produce.
