Tomah’s Downtown Thursday Nights concerts to start July 2
TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) – The Tomah Chamber and Visitors Center’s second annual six-week concert series will begin July 2, when Wheelhouse will perform from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Tomah City Council approved closing down Superior Avenue for the series, which is part of Tomah’s Downtown Thursday Nights.
Other dates and performers for the free events, all from 6 to 9, include:
- July 9 – Crossroad Station.
- July 16 – Kirsten Thien.
- July 23 – Casey Muessigmann.
- Aug. 6 – Joey Leone’s Chop Shop.
- Aug. 13 – Cherry Pie.
Downtown Thursday Nights will include a kid zone featuring bounce houses, face painting and caricatures, as well as food vendors and beer sales for adults.
“This event is designed to bring people into our downtown, encouraging more people to visit Tomah and other businesses to open here and I think we’re achieving that,” said Chamber and Visitors Center President/CEO Tina Thompson.
Last year, Downtown Thursday Nights initially attracted about 1,200, which ballooned to more than 2,800 toward the end.
