Toasty Evening… Then Clear & Mild Overnight -Bill Graul
More Record Heat For Many This Weekend
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 71F / Saturday’s Forecast High: 95F…
Many spots set or tied record highs today with highs in the low-mid 90s. The high of 96F at the La Crosse airport, broke the old record of 94F set in 1934. The sliver of good news is humidity remained fairly low, so it was a “dry” heat. There was also a nice SW breeze around 10-25 mph.
It will be toasty this evening, then clear and mild overnight. Expect lows to range from the mid 60s to low 70s in most areas.
This weekend will be dry and continued hot. Humidity will climb a bit, but it still won’t be overly humid. Highs Saturday will be in the low-mid 90s and the record high in La Crosse of 93F (1934) will be in jeopardy. A few clouds move in Sunday afternoon and that could keep highs in the upper 80s to low 90s on Sunday.
Looking Ahead… Isolated showers and t-storms possible Monday, with highs in the upper 80s to near 90F. Rain chances increase a bit Tuesday through Thursday, with at least slight chances for scattered showers and storms each day. Temps will remain above average, with highs well into the 80s.
Just isolated t-showers possible next Friday, then Saturday is looking dry at this time. Highs will remain in the 80s.
Stay cool and have a great weekend! -Bill Graul
