Tips to avoiding eye fatigue

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – So much of our lives are spent sitting behind a computer or fixated on our cellphones, but can those hours of screen time have negative effects on our eyesight?

Studies suggest it’s beneficial to limit your screen time and take breaks in between work.

Like all good things in life, moderation is key.

“When you fixate on something your eyes focus and after a while, they can start to blur out even get a little bit of a headache,” said Dr. Michael Scott, Ophthalmologist of Mayo Clinic Health System.

Dr. Scott also recommends keeping your screen at eye level and sitting back at least 2 feet and if headaches or inability to focus persists, to make an appointment with your eye doctor.
