Tip into drug sales at apartment leads to two arrests

Law enforcement officials are crediting a tip that drug sales were happening at an apartment in the town of Campbell with leading to two drug-related arrests.

Officers had conducted a traffic stop Friday at an unknown location. The tip involved an apartment on La Crescent Street, according to the Campbell Police Department.

More than 5.6 ounces of meth were recovered during the traffic stop. Officials say the average amount of meth used to get high is 0.1 grams.

Steven J. Christiansen, 24, of La Crosse, was taken into custody for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and a felony probation and parole warrant.

Shelby L. Roubideaux, 25, was taken into custody for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christiansen has been previously been found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping, possession of narcotic drugs, causing injury while operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, resisting or obstructing an officer, possession of meth, taking and driving a vehicle without consent and operating a vehicle with a revoked license, according to court records.

According to court records, Roubideaux has previously been found guilty of forgery, resisting or obstructing an officer, fraud of a gas station, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping and possession of THC, the active ingredient in cannabis.

Campbell police officers were assisted by the Onalaska Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
