Time to pack up your ice shanty, removal deadline approaches Monday
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A reminder for anglers: the ice shanty removal deadline for our region is Monday, March 1.
Fishers can continue to use portable shanties after Monday as long as they are removed from the ice by the end of each day.
The DNR asks that you don’t leave behind any litter.
Those who leave their permanent shanties out past the deadline could face penalties.
If you would like to report a shanty that hasn’t been removed from the ice, you can contact the WI DNR Violation Hotline: 1-800-TIP-WDNR
