Tim was born on March 19th, 1955 to Wendell and Elizabeth “Betty” (Swiggum) Showen in Viroqua, WI. He graduated from North Crawford High School in 1973. He married Julie Everson and they had two children; they would later divorce. He married his soulmate, Kathaleen “Kathy” Copus, on November 14th, 1992 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Soldiers Grove. Tim worked for many years on the family farm and remained a farmer at heart his entire life. After getting out of farming, he went to work with Wick Homes, joined the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), and later worked with his brother at Showen Excavating. Tim retired in November of 2009 due to an accident while cutting firewood, followed by a prostate cancer diagnosis the following year. Tim loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and also enjoyed spending time going to auctions, collecting Red Wing pottery and other antiques, gardening, spending time outdoors, and had an extreme love for animals. He enjoyed spending time with old friends and new and never met a stranger.
