Third annual Al’s Musky Challenge looking to raise money for local organizations
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The third annual Al’s Musky Challenge has officially begun.
The Rotary Club of La Crosse is sponsoring the fishing fundraiser where people can donate and pledge money for local businesses.
This year, the event is in honor of David Amborn, a fellow Rotarian who is known around La Crosse for his volunteer and charitable efforts.
David passed away in February, so now the event proceeds are going towards four local organizations that he supported: The Coulee Recovery Center, The Children’s Museum, The La Crosse Community Theater, and The Children’s Miracle Network.
“We currently stand at, we set a pretty big goal, we set a goal of $100,000 were a little over $62,500 and we haven’t even finished the first week yet. So we’re doing really well,” said Al’s Musky Challenge Founder, Al Louis.
Last year Al’s Musky Challenge raised $45,000 so they’ve already surpassed last year’s total with nearly a month still to go.
