St. Patrick’s Day .01 run/walk raises money for local food banks
Participants either run or walk the distance, which converts to only 32.8 feet
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – A local tradition proves you don’t have to travel a long distance to give to a great cause.
The St. Patrick’s Day .01K, a.k.a the world’s shortest run/walk took place today.
Participants either run or walk the distance, which converts to only 32.8 feet.
The annual event usually takes place on pearl street but decided Riverside Park would be a better fit due to the pandemic.
The event raises money for the Hunger Task Force and is a great excuse to get outside while helping a great cause.
“This year, well every year, we want people to have fun. But this is a good reminder that we’re a community, we’re gonna get through this, and that things are turning around,” said Jean Taylor of the Morning Sickness on 95.7 The Rock.
Over the past 16 years, the event has raised more than $70,000 for the Hunger Task Force.
