The Rivoli Theatre to reopen with restrictions this week

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)– A historic movie theater in downtown La Crosse will re-open its doors with some restrictions this week.

The Rivoli will reopen on Friday for its first showing in more than two months. It closed on March 17 because of an emergency order that barred mass gatherings.

The movie theatre will be restricting who can enter the property.

If you or anyone in your household has been sick or showing symptoms, you will not be allowed to enter. All patrons are required to wear a face-covering at all times, unless they are sitting in the theater. People will need to follow social distancing when possible– that means staying away from others by at least six feet.

The theater said in a message on its website that it prefers if customers pay through contactless or touch-free methods. If you must sneeze, cover your face with your elbow. You should wash your hands after using the restroom facilities.

“We are dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for you to enjoy with peace of mind. Our staff is maintaining a vigorous cleaning and disinfection regimen before every showing in all areas,” said a message from The Rivoli on its website.

If you have questions or concerns about the sanitation procedures, you should ask for the manager on duty.

The Riv said it is still working on its movie schedule for reopening.
