The party was canceled, but not the celebration!

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Onalaska resident, Ellie Molzahn, had some big birthday plans for her 60th birthday.

But like many events, it had to be canceled.

So family, friends, and neighbors came to her, while practicing social distancing, of course.

From the sidewalk, people cheered and sang to celebrate her big day.

Plus, Ooo-Rah Fire Department – Fubar Auxiliary even stopped with its 1953 fire truck and plenty of dance music.

The kind gesture brightened her day.

“I had no idea they were coming, and so this is a big surprise, a very nice surprise, considering I was kind of down, not being able to have my party,” Molzahn said.

She says this definitely beats spending the night in!

Happy birthday, Ellie!
