The Great Pumpkin Chase takes runners through Hixon trails
Participants enjoyed blufftop celebration with food, refreshments
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Runners in our area took a jaunt through the scenic parts of La Crosse on Saturday.
The Great Pumpkin Chase 5k had participants running along the Upper Hixon Forest trails, admiring nature while raising money for WisCorps. The 6th annual race offered prizes for the winners of each age bracket, overall male and female champion trophies, and even prizes for best costumes.
Organizers say the success of these events is all thanks to the beauty of our area.
“To be able to have a facility like this, the trails, the parking areas, to do these kind of events, I mean that just brings people to the La Crosse area, gives the locals something fun to do. It’s just a wonderful place to have these kind of events,” said The Great Pumpkin Chase Executive Director Matthew Brantner.
After the race participants enjoyed a blufftop celebration with food, refreshments, and live music.
