The Great GROW Get Together raising funds for school gardens

Fundraising event will feature carnival games, live music, raffles

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – An upcoming event will continue to blossom local kids’ love for gardening.

The Great GROW Get Together is a fundraising event celebrating garden education in area schools.

GROW started with one school in 2012, and now has a presence in eight area schools.

All proceeds from the event will go to school gardening programs.

Some of those school gardens are already flourishing.

“Children can walk through and pick raspberries or apples, things that are ripe, on their way into school,” says Communication and Outreach Coordinator Bonnie Martin. “Part of our programming is letting kids know where and how they can find those healthy foods in our community.”

The family-friendly fundraiser at Pearl Street Brewery will have carnival games, live music, a silent auction, and more.

Admission is $5.

The event starts at 5 p.m.

GROW is requesting any unvaccinated attendees wear a mask.
