Thanksgiving meals delivered to staff at Health Systems in La Crosse

About 600 meals donated were donated by Kwik Trip

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – It is a Thanksgiving unlikely any other.

Healthcare workers are not taking the holiday.

Staff at Gundersen and Mayo Clinic Health Systems are hard at work caring for patients in the middle of a pandemic.

Kwik Trip wanted them to know just how much we appreciate them.

The La Crosse company distributed meals to staff at both Health Systems Thursday as a token of gratitude and thanks.

“The staff are just coming down by the droves to pick up this. And it’s gonna just to the positivity of the day,” said Mayo Clinic Health System administrator Paul Moling.

Kwik Trip donated About 600 meals.

Volunteers of all ages pitched in to make sure that the meals were delivered.

Many were not able to celebrate with their own family because of the pandemic, but found a way to make this Thanksgiving just as special.

“We would usually be in my families hometown, eating and playing with our cousins and having fun. But since the pandemic, we can’t really do that. So it’s nice to help the people that are helping the world right now,” said volunteer Conley Vogel.

The meals included turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing.
