‘Thank A Teacher Day’ event held in La Crosse

Members of our community gathered today to say thank you.

Tuesday is National Teacher Appreciation Day. To honor educators in the La Crosse School District, the La Crosse Public Education Foundation hosted its annual ‘Thank a Teacher Day’ event.

Students, elected officials and community members gathered to recognize the impact teachers have on students and our community.

For the teachers, it’s a fun time of year.

“At the end of the year, you feel like you have to get so much more done then at the beginning of the year, I don’t know why that is. We do tend to get excited too for summer vacation,” said Jean Brady, 4th grade teacher at Emerson Elementary.

This was the fourth year of the event.
