Tax season down to one month
File for an extension at IRS.gov
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Have you filed your taxes yet?
The deadline to file is coming up quick. The tax season comes to a close in about a month.
If you are a last minute filer, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue recommends filing and paying online to make the process a little quicker.
April 18 is the deadline for tax filing this year, but you can file for an extension if needed.
“Just remember that if you are filing an extension, which goes to October 18, that it’s only an extension to file, not to pay. So if we have anything that you owe any taxes you have to pay it right away,” said H&R Block Master Tax Preparer Tammy Pedersen Marker.
If you need more time, you can find out how to request an extension at IRS.gov.
